0018636: Special Character like dot doesn't work in siteName

I'm using the tx_srfeuserregister v3.0.1

I entered "Company e.V." to siteName, like:
plugin.tx_srfeuserregister_pi1.siteName = Company e.V.

After that the e-mail sender name looks like Company e\.V\.

i tried with plugin.tx_srfeuserregister_pi1.siteName = "Company e.V." but it doesn't work - the e-mail sender name looks like 'Company e\.V\.' with the quotes ' '
